Private Funding:

The Center for Global Understanding has partnered with The Washington Center (TWC) to offer financial assistance to the students above and beyond what is available through TWC's regular funding sources.

The Washington Center is able to offer selected students financial assistance from a number of private sources. All of the awards listed below are competitive in nature.

The Center for Global Understanding Scholarships for Muslim American Students (Muslim American Scholars Initiative):

We invite Muslim American Students to apply for these scholarships. Students are placed in a broad range of internships according to their academic and professional interests, and may enroll in any of the Washington Center programs.

Scholarships to qualified U.S. citizens are available for Summer 2014. Students are required to fill out CFGU Scholarship Supplement Summer 2014.

Diversity Leaders, Civic Engagement, and International Leaders Awards:

The Washington Center invites eligible student leaders to apply for these awards. Recipients are chosen competitively on the basis of their academic performance and leadership in relevant settings (college or university, community, service organization, and the like) as reflected in their TWC application, and on their resume. Students are placed in a broad range of internships according to their academic and professional interests, and may enroll in any Washington Center program.

Some of the awards are:

Diversity Leaders Award: $3,000 housing financial assistance
Civic Engagement Award: $1,000 housing financial assistance
International Leaders Award: $5,695

Honors Scholarships:

Students interested in any of the Honors Scholarships should submit their application by the Competitive Deadline.  In the Competitive Awards section of the application, students must indicate interest in applying for any of these awards.
